Rules - Time Trial Race

*Please use Kutchan Museum of Natural History(Parking lot 1) or Kutchan town Hall (Parking lot 2) to park your car.
*Please rider your own bike from the parking lot to TT start area(approx 6km)

Eligibility

  • Men and Women age 16 and over.
  • Participants are classified according to the year of birth.
  • For the UGFWS, participants are required compete on the designated race and age class. All women or men aged 18 or under is not eligible for the UGFWS.
  • Below riders is not eligible to enter the race:
    ① All riders who are part of a UCI trade team in 2022.
    ② All riders who have taken part in the World Championship, the Olympic Games, Continental Championship or Games, Regional Games, the Commonwealth Games, or the World Cup in 2022.
    ③ All riders with UCI points in any discipline.

age19 – 34 / age 35 – 39 / age 40 – 44 / age 45 – 49 / age 50 – 54 / age 55 – 59 / age 60 – 64 / age 65+

Women
age 19 – 34 / age 35 – 39 / age 40 – 44 / age 45 – 49 / age 50 – 54 / age 55 – 59 / age 60 – 64 / age 65+

  • Top 3 riders from each age category will be awarded.
  • Top 20% finisher from each age category will qualify for the UCI Gran Fondo world Championships Time Trial.

2. Non-UCI Gran Fondo category

Men - High schooler

Women- High schooler

Race Entry Fee

Time Trial Race - 12,000 yen + Payment system fee

* Entry fee is non-refundable.

Notices

  1. This race will be held under the regulations of the Union Cycliste international (UCI) and Japan Cycling Federation (JCF).
  2. Participants must wear an approved helmet that meets safety standards of his/her country.
  3. All the equipment (especially wheels) that is used in the race must be in the accordance with the UCI and JFC regulations.
  4. Bikes, used in the race must be accordance with JCF regulation and equipment such as DH handle bar and disk brake etc are allowed to use.
  5. All participants that are born on or after January 1, 2004 are subject to have a gear ratio of 7.93 or less.
  6. A transponder is used to track the time of the race.

Other Notes

  1. Upon registration, please bring Health check sheet confirmed email.
  2. Bib, number plates, and timing chip will be handed over at the registration desk after confirming the health check confirmation email. Please identify yourself with your name and race category. These items will not be mailed.
  3. Riders must attach the transponder( timing chip) to their bike before start. Riders without timing chip are not allowed to start.
  4. News and other information are updated only on the website. Communiques boards will not be installed at the venue.
  5. Medical team will provide a temporary first-aid treatment for injuries caused by accidents during the race. An extensive treatment will not be provided by them. Upon finishing the race, each participant is suggested to make a visit to a hospital.
  6. The race is carried out on public roads. Riders are obliged to follow the organizer’s instruction. Those who act against are disqualified and expelled from the race immediately.
  7. Participants who have decided to suspend the race should report to officials, committee members and security immediately.
  8. Please attach the timing chip to your bike during the race and immediately return it to Timing Chip Return set in the village after you finish. Damaging your chip or failure to return incurs 10,000JPY penalty as its replacement cost.
  9. The organizer holds rights to use participants’ pictures, names, addresses, age or race careers in general advertising tools, press release and information media related to the event.
    Additionally, please note that they will be also used in publications, video or other media format created by the organizer.
  10. To all participants and spectators: Active camera devices (EX: GoPro) must be placed i) firmly ii) locations where it won’t contact with a body (EX: under the handle bar) to avoid injuries. An operation of drone above the race road is prohibited.
  11. Bib, number plates, and timing chip will be handed over at the registration desk after submission of health check sheet confirmation email. Please identify yourself with your name and race category. These will not be mailed in advance.

Other Special Rules

  1. Reception / Transportation to race start area
    Reception on race day starts from an hour before the race start at Time Trial start venue(Kutchan Kokusetsu Center). Riders shall ride to the Time Trial start area, at least 15 minutes before your individual start time. When moving to the start area, please follow the traffic rules.
  2. Start list
    To avoid crowd, start list will not be displayed at the venue, please check your start time on start list on website.
  3. Bike inspection
    As a measure of COVID-19 spread prevention, we will not operate bike inspection this year. After arriving to start area and entering to start grid, participants shall stay within the start area and prohibited to go out the area.
  4. Start
    Participants shall line at the start grid and shall follow the commissaries order to move towards the start line. Riders starts in intervals of 30 seconds by the signal of start timer. Commissaires will not hold your bike when starting to keep distance so riders shall start by its foot on ground.
  5. Feeding
    Any drink feeding by the third party are prohibited during the race.
  6. After the finish
    Please follow the order of staff and move to the main venue for the ensure the safe. Please avoid to stay in the area to avoid crowd.
  7. Awards ceremony
    Top three riders from each category will be awarded. Please wear race wears and mask when going on podium.
  8. Results
    Results will be displayed on website and there will not be a communique board displayed at the venue.
  9. Injury during the race
    Medical team will provide a temporary first-aid treatment for injuries caused by accidents during the race. An extensive treatment will not be provided by them. Upon finishing the race, each participant is suggested to make a visit to a hospital and the cost for this is on each participants. Please bring your health Insurance card.
