Q What are methods of transport are available to get to Niseko from the New Chitose International Airport and what is the traveling time?
A It takes 2.5 hours to travel to Niseko by car from the New Chitose Airport. (Approx 110 km). The easiest way to get to Niseko is by JR Train or by Rent a Car. Please click here for more details.
Q Where is the main event area after I have reached Niseko?
A The main event area is at Niseko Grand Hirafu Ski Area, in the Yamada area of Kutchan Town.
Q Is there a carpark near the registrations area? Is there anywhere to stay overnight in the car?
A There are FREE carparks near the Registration area. Please use the Number 1 to Number 4 carparks, listed below. If you plan on staying overnight in your car, then please use the Number 1 Carpark only.

Q Can you explain the registration process and where and what time, I need to be at the different places?
A The Registration process is outlined below;

Q I have entered in the race, however I still have not received an exchange certificate for the Number Number?
A Niseko Classic does not operate an exchange certificate system for collecting Race Numbers. Tell the staff at the registration counter for your category your FULL NAME and they will give you your Race Number.
Q I can arrive in Niseko on July 8th 2017, but I can not make it in time for the registrations, what should I do?
A Registrations will take place from 9:00am to 15:00 on July 8th, 2017. If for any reason you can not make it between these times, please call the secretariat for the event at Tel: 0136-55-6081.
Q Can my friend register on my behalf?
A Yes, however you must give the person completing your registration on your behalf a copy of your insurance policy and your ID, these must be passed to the staff in order to complete the registration process.
Q Can I register on July 9th, 2017? (Day of the Race)
A NO, strictly no registrations can be processed on July 9th, 2017 (Race Day)
Q Is there somewhere to store my personal items before I start the race?
A Yes there is. A personal item storage facility is set up at the event venue in Grand Hirafu, feel free to use this. (We do not accept valuables) * Check the Grand Hirafu Event Venue Map for details.
Q I am competing in the 70 km road race and would like to hand my bike over for the race on July 8th, 2017, is it possible?
A There is a tent at the Niseko Grand Hirafu Event Venue that is marked “70 km Race Bike Collection Tent”, this tent will operate until 15:00 on July 8th, 2017.
When you hand you bike over to the staff at the tent you the following items are required.
- Please remove GPS, Computer and speedometers, cameras and all other accessories from your bike.
- Please attach your name tag to your bike by yourself and hand your bike to the staff at the counter.
- Make sure you keep your receipt for your bike in a safe place, you will be required to hand this over on race day in order to get your bike.
Q Is there transport to the start of the 70km race?
A Yes, there is a shuttle bus leaving from the Grand Hirafu Event Venue on July 9th, 2017.
※This service is limited to entrants that have stipulated they will be using the service at time of registration.
※Only race entrants will be able to ride this shuttle service to the start venue. (Supporters and family items can not use this service)
Q Is the start point for the 70 km race a long way from the registration venue?
A No there is no carpark available at the start point, the closest carpark is the Rankoshi Town Council, which is approximately 10 minutes from the start point for the race.
Q Does the individual entering the race need to be present in person to sign in?
A Yes, the individual needs to sign that they are starting in the race in person. If a signature is not the individuals signature, they will be disqualified.
Q I will not be able to make it in time for the riders meeting on July 8th 2017, can I be excused?
A All riders are obligated to attend the riders meeting. If you have a good and valid reason for not being able to attend please inform the secretariat, there are no penalties if you can’t attend the meeting.
Q Where is the riders meeting held on July 8th 2017?
A The riders meeting is held at the Niseko Grand Hirafu Stage and will start at 15:00, the venue is outdoors.
Q Is there a bike check required?
A There is no bike check, however there maybe a check for top place getters, that their bikes weigh in under 6.8 kg.
Q Is it Ok to fit a Bike repair kit to my bike?
A In the event of a crash accessories are dangerous. Any mirrors, bags, mud guards and other accessories are required to be removed.
Q Is it Ok to use a helmet that is not JCF compliant?
A No, it can not be used. Please ensure to use a JCF, UCI approved helmet. If you are unsure, check with the nearest Race Official.
Q I would like to show my support for the racers, where should I go?
A You can support the racers from anywhere, however please do not enter the course. We encourage as many people as possible to support the racers.
